St George Illawarra Dragons star Ben Hunt will compete in his 300th NRL game as his side heads up to Townsville to take on the North Queensland Cowboys.
Hunt will become just the 47th man to achieve the incredible feat when he takes to the field in the famous Red V.

But for all of the 33-year-old’s individual brilliance, the Dragons have endured a nightmare start to the 2023 campaign.
The club have won just two games from nine this season and are only off the foot of the ladder due to the Wests Tigers’ worse points differential.

It has placed enormous pressure on coach Anthony Griffin who has tinkered with his line-up in recent weeks, even switching Hunt from his preferred position of halfback to hooker against the Tigers last Sunday.
Griffin also made the bold call to drop star centre Zac Lomax from the team during Magic Round and has kept him out for a second week running.

As for the Cowboys, they enter the contest with plenty of confidence after a gritty 20-6 win over the Sydney Roosters in a muddy Magic Round affair.
The win came after Todd Payten’s side copped a 44-6 shellacking at the hands of the Cronulla Sharks in what has been an inconsistent start for the Queensland outfit.
But the Cowboys have a golden chance to win back-to-back games for the first time this season when they face the lowly Dragons as they look to spoil Hunt’s special day.
