The Azerbaijan Grand Prix descended into chaos on the final lap of the race on Sunday with Esteban Ocon driving into a pit lane filled with mechanics and photographers.
In a scary near-miss in Baku, Alpine’s Ocon went to pit on the final lap of the race — as he was required to do so to meet the competition’s mandatory pit stop rules.
But as he entered the pit lane at the death, a large group of people had been allowed to enter the pit lane and move toward the pit wall with Sergio Perez heading towards the chequered flag.

Luckily, Ocon reacted quick enough and no one was hurt — but serious questions will be asked over how people breached pit lane before the race was officially over.
“This is a shambles, absolute shambles,” pit lane reporter Ted Kravitz said on Sky Sports.
“That is a total and utter shambles in organisation.”
Karun Chandhok added: “A lucky escape. That was absolutely madness, to allow all those people into the pit lane when there was live racing going along. Absolute madness.”
