‘F***ing everything’: Pies skipper wins AFL hearts again with very different speech

Collingwood captain Darcy Moore has further endeared himself to AFL fans with an F-bomb on live TV at halftime of Collingwood’s Round 7 clash with Adelaide on Sunday.

The Crows got off to a flyer at the Adelaide Oval, kicking the first three goals of the game to lead 24-2 at quarter time.

But Collingwood fought back in the second term, kicking three goals to none to trail by just six points at the main break.

Round 7

With Darcy Cameron injured, the Magpies have been playing without a designated ruckman in recent weeks and they were seriously undersized against the Crows.

Adelaide took almost double the amount of marks as Collingwood and the Crows should have been further in front if it wasn’t for some inaccurate goalkicking.

Speaking to Crows legend Mark Ricciuto on Fox Footy as he left the field at halftime, a fired up Moore said the Magpies had a lot of work to do.

“We got to work really hard to get back into this game,” Moore said.

“They just absolutely slaughtered us in the first quarter. Feels like we’re doing too many handballs.

“Their big guys came to play. They’re f***ing marking everything so we had to fight really hard to stay in that one.”

Ricciuto ended the interview after Moore’s X-rated comment, which didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.

“Didn’t quite have the seven second delay ready there,” Fox Footy commentator Anthony Hudson quipped.

Moore rallied his teammates as they left the field and Ricciuto was seriously impressed by the Magpies skipper’s passion.

“I was right in amongst it with Darcy Moore,” Ricciuto said.

“He is a great leader. You could see him taking them off the ground. He was really revving them up. They went into together really tight. They’re going to come out firing in the third quarter.”

Moore’s F-bomb in live TV was in stark contrast to his classy and eloquent speech following Collingwood’s Anzac Day win over Essendon earlier in the week, but no doubt endeared him to fans all the same.

Moore post-game accepted the Anzac Day trophy before the Collingwood skipper took to the mic.

Triple Coleman Medallist Jason Dunstall labelled it “one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard on this day”.

“He made it all about the occasion and the sacrifice that has been made for us, well before us. I thought that was brilliant,” Dunstall told Fox Footy.

“The words that he chose summed it up perfectly.”
