Radley accepts NRL fine for Anzac Day hit

Roosters hardman Victor Radley has already accepted a $3000 fine for his contentious tackle on St George Illawarra’s Michael Molo, despite claiming it was a “s— decision” by match officials to penalise and sin-bin him in the Anzac Day cliffhanger.

The Roosters wasted no time entering an early guilty plea after the match review committee levelled a grade one careless high tackle charge against him on Wednesday morning.

Radley would have risked a two-match ban if he unsuccessfully fought the charge at the judiciary.

It means the English international will be free for the Roosters’ trip across the Tasman to take on the Warriors on Sunday.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson claimed Radley was on the wrong side of the decision.

“I had a look at the vision over and over again and I didn’t see any shoulder on head contact on any of the televisions I saw but I know there’s other angles,” Robinson said in his post match press conference.

“Unless they show more angles, I can only go off what I’ve seen.

“We feel like if it’s a 50/50 in a physical contact, Rads has been on the wrong side of it.”
