‘He’s butchered another’: Sharks flyer’s all-time howler… and it’s not his first rodeo

Sharks flyer Ronaldo Mulitalo has done it again, butchering what looked like a certain try against the Bulldogs which left commentators stunned.

The 23-year-old had a moment to forget in Round 1 against the Rabbitohs when he dropped the ball during an extravagant dive to score.

Young gun halfback Lachlan Ilias slapped the ball out of his hands, leaving Mulitalo red-faced before South Sydney went on to score a 27-18 victory.

Round 8

Now Mulitalo is set for another stern conversation with coach Craig Fitzgibbon after a second howler.

With only six minutes remaining in Cronulla’s Round 8 clash, Mulitalo took a Siosifa Talakai pass for what looked like a certain try.

Instead, Mulitalo dived away from the open space before his hand touched the sideline only a fraction of a second before the ball was grounded.

Fox League’s commentators were left stunned after spotting the horro blunder and couldn’t believe the gun winger had done it again.

“Oh no, he’s butchered another one, he did it against Souths… there was so much room inside,” Dan Ginnane said.

“He’s touched that Brandy, you cannot give this, wow.”

“He’s got a mile of room inside him, his hand touches the line… looking to score his eighth of the season,” Alexander said.

“What a topsy, turvy year he is having. He’s been brilliant, scoring tries at will yet probably the two worst butchering of the tries across the NRL this season,” Ginnane said.

“Lachlan Ilias in Round 1 but this time it was all on his own.”

“He didn’t have much pressure coming at him from the inside either, there was no need,” Alexander said.

Mulitalo failed to add to his seven tries in 2023 but luckily, Cronulla secured a comfortable 33-20 win.
