‘Don’t do that bulls**t again’: Giddey brings out side we’ve never seen after ‘dirty’ act

If anyone was wondering how Josh Giddey would perform with everything on the line, the Aussie NBA star has delivered a telling answer.

Giddey equalled his career-high of 31 points as well as nine rebounds and 10 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder won its play-in tournament clash against the New Orleans Pelicans 123-118.

The Thunder will now play the Minnesota Timberwolves for a place in the playoffs, where the winner will face Western Conference top seeds the Denver Nuggets.

It dropped Giddey to the floor but the Aussie came in hot and had to be held back by his teammates.

After arguing his case with the refs, Giddey then pointed to Richardson, saying: “Don’t do that bulls**t again. Don’t do it again.”

While some argued Giddey was also lucky not to be fouled for the illegal moving screen, Richardson’s was clearly the more egregious issue at play and he was slammed for the act.

It saw Richardson called for a flagrant foul type one meaning Giddey went to the stripe for two free throws, as well as the Thunder getting the ball back.

The Thunder have had to go the hard way if they want to make the playoffs, needing to go from 10th.

Despite having ticked off one win, the Thunder now need to play the Timberwolves in Minneapolis, scheduled for 11.30am Saturday AEST.

“It’s going to be a similar environment — hostile, on the road, a do-or-die game,” Giddey said.

“It’s going to be another test, but as Shai said — we’ve had a lot of close games and none of these moments rattle our guys. We’ll be ready for Minnesota.”
