Lionel Messi is “actively considering” leaving PSG when his contract ends in a few months’ time and joining Cristiano Ronaldo’s rival club in Saudi Arabia.
ESPN reports Messi is weighing up a move to Al Hilal, the Riyadh-based rivals of Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.
Messi is already linked to the controversial Middle East state as he fronts the Visit Saudi tourism campaign.

His camp held talks with the Saudi Arabian club last month amid reports Messi is unlikely to extend his stay in Paris.
The legendary superstar signed a two-year deal when he made a blockbuster switch from Barcelona in 2021, with the Spanish club said to have some interest in getting him back, but are unlikely to be able to afford him.

Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami has also been in talks with Messi but could not compete financially with the offer from Al Hilal.
The story was initially reported by Fabrizio Romano who claimed the Saudi club have sent an official bid of 400 million Euros ($AU655m) a year.
It has been reported Messi is most interested in remaining in Europe, however the same was reported about Ronaldo before he switched to Al Nassr.
Despite signing Ronaldo, who leads the league with 11 goals, Al Nassr only sits second on the Saudi Pro League table – with Al Hilal seven points back in third.
