LIVE AFL: Cats confirm final team after late mystery as Suns veteran reaches record feat

Reigning premiers Geelong will be looking to avoid an unthinkable 0-3 start to its 2023 campaign as it travels north to take on Gold Coast, which will be celebrating a significant milestone.

The Suns (0-2) will be celebrating veteran on-baller David Swallow, who’ll become the first player to reach the 200-game milestone for the Suns after being taken with Pick 1 in the 2020 draft.

The Cats (0-2) welcome back four-time All-Australian defender Tom Stewart, as well as veteran ruck Jon Ceglar for the clash. But 7 News Melbourne reported both Rhys Stanley and Gary Rohan flew to the Gold Coast on Saturday — despite both being ‘managed’ from the team — then were withdrawn from the VFL curtain-raiser, sparking late change speculation.
