Ange Postecoglou has received a major boost ahead of Celtic’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid, with star forward Kyogo Furuhashi fit to play.
The Japanese star went off with a shoulder injury in the first few minutes of Celtic’s 4-0 demolition of Rangers on Saturday (AEST) and was replaced by Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Kyogo then fell on his injured shoulder in some post-match celebrations on the field too, but he appeared to be OK.
Thankfully, Postecoglou revealed the forward is available for selection in the Hoops’ Champions League opener.

“Kyogo hurt his shoulder and trained this morning,” Postecoglou said.
“He looked OK so he is available. I haven’t made a decision on whether he will play or not, but in terms of him training and doing everything in training, he was fine.”

Unfortunately, centre-back Carl Starfelt has not passed a late fitness test after coming off injured in the second half of the Old Firm derby.
Starfelt hurt his knee and was replaced by summer signing Mortiz Jenz.
“We haven’t had an exact diagnosis,” Postecoglou said.
“It’s nothing too serious but it will probably keep him out for a couple of weeks.”
