Broncos without key forward as Titans lose star off-season recruit: Casualty Ward

Broncos enforcer Thomas Flegler has been ruled out of the club’s first pre-season trial after suffering a head knock during training.

Brisbane’s official Twitter account confirmed the news on Thursday afternoon, with Logan Bayliss-Brow slotting into the starting side.

Young gun Brendan Piakura will now also start off the bench when Kevin Walters’ side take on the Titans in the Queensland derby.

Meanwhile, the Gold Coast have lost a forward of their own with Chris Randall ruled out of the clash.

According to NRL.com, the hooker suffered a hamstring strain but will be fit for Round 1 after making the move north from the Knights in the off-season.
