Titans throw support behind rising star after shock trial injury: Off-season Central

The Titans have thrown their support behind one of the club’s rising stars after the young gun was hospitalised after a trial match over the weekend.

Joseph Pouniu was captaining the Gold Coast’s under 17s team in a game against the Broncos in Burleigh when he collided with the goalposts.

According to MyGC, Pouniu suffered a serious neck injury and was rushed to a Brisbane hospital.

The young star is in a serious but stable condition according to a Titans club statement.

Titans chief executive Steve Mitchell spoke highly of Pouniu and threw his support behind the team’s captain.

“Joseph is a terrific young man and leader and is a big part of our Future Titans program,” Mitchell said in a club statement.
