A major search continues for the mother of a young West Coast Eagles player after she fell from a boat following a horrific crash that killed one person and left another in hospital.
Both 9 News Perth and The West Australian reported on Sunday night the search is continuing for Kylie Bazzo – the mother of Eagles defender Rhett Bazzo – almost 24 hours after Western Australian Police were called to an area near Pinjarra Road and Soldiers Cove Terrace in Mandurah, south of Perth.
Four people were on board a boat when it reportedly collided with a red post marker in the Mandurah estuary. Two women were thrown from the boat following the crash.
Deborah Burdon – a friend of Mrs Bazzo’s – was recovered from the water, however she died at the scene. Deborah’s husband John Burdon, who was believed to be driving the boat, was taken to the Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.
