Former Warriors skipper eyeing NRL return as Dolphins circle: Transfer Whispers

Former Warriors fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is reportedly unhappy in rugby union and eyeing a return to the 13-man code with the Dolphins tipped to make a play for his services.

Wide World of Sports’ The Mole reported Tuivasa-Sheck wasn’t happy with his first season in rugby union with the Auckland Blues despite playing for the All Blacks.

Tuivasa-Sheck struggled to make the All Blacks starting team and when he did play he received very little opportunities to showcase his skills.

However, Tuivasa-Sheck is expected to give rugby union one more season given it is a World Cup year in 2023 with the carrot of representing the All Blacks at the game’s showpiece event.

The Warriors are unlikely to have room in their salary cap to accommodate the return of their former skipper.

However, the Dolphins are cashed up and are yet to land a marquee man, with the former Dally M Medal winner the perfect solution.

The Mole is tipping Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett to make a big play for Tuivasa-Sheck when he decides to return to rugby league in 2024.

The 29-year-old has scored 58 tries in 195 NRL games for the Roosters and Warriors and 14 tries in 20 Tests for New Zealand in rugby league.

Tuivasa-Sheck scored just one try in 11 games for the Blues and is yet to score in three Tests for the All Blacks.
