LIVE: Scorchers looking to continue red-hot start to season against Hurricanes

The Hobart Hurricanes are chasing their first win of the Big Bash League season when they host the Perth Scorchers in Launceston on Monday night.

The sides had opposite results in their season openers with the Hurricanes losing to the Melbourne Stars by 38 runs, while the defending champions produced a 38-run win over Sydney Sixers.

The Hurricanes were destroyed by Stars gun Joe Clarke who scored a century after going after he pace attack.

Scorchers bowler Jhye Richardson starred with four wickets, while Aaron Hardie’s 55 off 32 balls put his side in position to win.

Left-arm paceman Jason Behrendorff and Andrew Tye both picked up two wickets against the Sixers.

They take on a strong Hurricanes top order with Ben McDermott, D’Arcy Short and Matthew Wade all looking to hit big.

The Scorchers won both their meetings against the Hurricanes last season.
