A new-look Heat side is set to kick-off Brisbane’s BBL campaign against the Melbourne Renegades, who managed only three wins last season.
The Heat could field up to five debutants at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns, with international recruits Sam Billings, Colin Munro and Ross Whiteley all available alongside seamer Spencer Johnson and local replacement player Josh Brown.
Brisbane will be without experienced seamer Michael Neser who featured in the last Test against the West Indies.
