North Melbourne are closing in on a new CEO, with Geelong general manager Simon Lloyd reportedly heading the list of candidates.
According to the Herald Sun, Lloyd is one of a “very small group” of candidates to meet with the Kangaroos this week.
Other candidates reportedly include the MCC’s Jen Watt and NBL commissioner Jeremy Loeliger.

“The one name for me that I could be going to chase is Simon Lloyd from the Geelong footy club,” Johnson said on SEN.
“Simon has got the experience from a number of different platforms over a period of time and what he’s been able to do in helping set up the stability at the Cats and the way they do things from a football point of view has been huge.”
Journalist Peter Ryan agreed that Lloyd would be someone clubs should approach.
“I know initially when he got out of coaching he got into the footy manager role. He’s now had premiership success in that role,” he said on SEN.
“(He’s) the sort of people clubs really need to start thinking about taking a risk on.”

According to the reports, Lloyd is considered a “frontrunner” for the Roos, after being part of the Cats’ successful footy program since 2018.
He’s a former Geelong director of coaching and an ex-assistant coach at Fremantle during their grand final run back in 2013.
Lloyd has also worked at Collingwood and Hawthorn in a variety of roles before moving into the admin side of footy.
The new CEO would lead a long list of off-field changes at the Roos, with new coach Alastair Clarkson starting this month and Todd Viney coming on as footy boss.
