LIVE: The key question Gal can’t answer ahead of Hodges farewell fight

Paul Gallen will step into the ring one final time on Wednesday for the last fight of his career when he faces off against old foe and fellow rugby league legend Justin Hodges.

But first the pair will face off at Monday’s press conference, where Michael Zerafa will also get a chance to fire a few verbal shots at Danilo Creati before their bout.

For Zerafa, this week’s fight represents a chance to put himself right in the frame for a blockbuster bout in Australia against boxing superstar Gennady Golovkin.

There will be plenty of other fights to look forward to on Wednesday, with Paulo Aokuso looking to build on the 2-0 start to his professional career.

Elsewhere, South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Daniel Suluka-Fifita will become the latest NRL star to enter the ring when he faces Bryce Jones in a heavyweight scrap.

Going back to Gallen, Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech warned earlier in the week that he believes the rugby league great’s famed chin is “gone”.

It is sure to be a topic of discussion at Wednesday’s press conference, although Gallen already gave his thoughts on that claim to foxsports.com.au at Sunday’s open workouts in Darling Harbour.

“Have I gone on one fight too many? We’re about to find out,” Gallen said.

“Same with my chin. If it’s gone, we don’t know. But what I can say is that boxing, it’s an emotionless sport for me.

“So I don’t care what Jeff Fenech says. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and Jeff is allowed his. It doesn’t worry me. Doesn’t affect me.”
