A World Cup spokesperson confirmed they are in discussion with England and Ireland officials to work out what happened.
“The RLWC is aware of the reported incidents and is in conversation with the respective parties to establish the circumstances.
“There will be no further comment at this time.”
Bentley was allegedly the instigator of the fight, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, and that ERL threatened to call the police if Bentley did not leave.
Ireland has also been contacted for comment.
The Herald also reported that it is alleged that two other “high-profile” England players were part of a brawl at the team hotel.
It was also reported that Samoan players, who were also staying at the hotel, were allegedly woken up by ‘knock and runs’ in the middle of the night.
