Foketi scores!
France 6 Australia 13
Charles Ollivon, France’s openside breakaway, appears to score but Peyper corrects as it’s found to be Ollivon’s second play at the line. Michael Hooper had a quiet word with the South African and he talked to his colleagues upstairs. It was the right call.
Foley fluffs the kick for touch and the pressure is right back on but Australia turn it over and go the length of the field to score, Waratahs midfielder Lalakai Foketi staying half a boot ahead of his chaser! Foley converts to give the Wallabies a seven-point lead – scenes at the Stade!
Ramos kicks penalty goal
France 9 Australia 13
Australian hooker Dave Porecki is pinged for not rolling away and Ramos nails a straightforward kick to narrow the gap to four points. We’re six minutes from the break. Australia will be delighted with the scoreline so far and – more importantly – their ability to execute a clever game plan to challenge Les Bleus.
‘Spectacular Wallabies try’
Foketi injured
Shame for Lalakai Foketi to leave the field with medic Sharron Flahive – he took some heavy contact from French winger Damian Penaud and the word on commentary is it’s a shin injury – but the centre can feel most proud of his contribution tonight in Paris. Reds centre Hunter Paisami comes on.

Australia level
France 6 Australia 6
The Stade de France crowd aren’t happy after referee Jaco Peyper gives Australia the penalty for a tackle on Michael Hooper. No.10 Bernard Foley slots the goal to level the scores but the pressure is on quick smart with France using a kick behind to get a lineout metres out from the Aussie line. They win possession and go on the attack.
France level, go ahead
France 6 Australia 3
Les Bleus hit back with two penalty goals within a few minutes, the last of which was courtesy of a pilfer from French No.8 Gregory Aldritt. Fullback Thomas Ramos looks formidable off the kicking tee.
Underway in Paris with early Wallabies score
By Georgina Robinson
France 0 Australia 3
Australia make their first visit into France’s 22-metre zone and we have our first scrum as James Slipper is turned over. The Wallabies win the penalty, an immediate pay-off for having Taniela Tupou starting in the front row. Foley slots the kick and the Wallabies are 3-0 on the scoreboard.
