Goodness me, will the pattern continue?
If you’re a Melbourne fan and you’re not at the MCG, you might want to get here quickly.
First term analysis
The Demons have delivered six first-quarter goals – their best term of the season. This was the response coach Simon Goodwin wanted after a week in the spotlight. Their ability to move the ball fluently and with purpose drew a standing ovation from the MCC faithful. Remember, this what club president Brad Green also called for early in the week in his letter to members. Green wanted the Demons to play with the attacking flair they had in the third term against Essendon last weekend. They have delivered that.

There’s the quarter-siren siren. It’s a completely different Melbourne at the MCG today.

Goal: Freo drag one back
It’s Josh Treacy. We’ve gone beyond 30 minutes and it’s a goal-fest.
Goal: Christian Petracca!
Oh, what a snap! Great goal. Melbourne have come to play today.
Jon Pierik: This is the man the Dees need to get rolling – Christian Petracca. With only three touches to this point, Petracca roves the pack and snaps beautifully for goal from about 35m on a slight angle. The Demons are up for this.
