Interpretation has failed to finish the course at the 2022 Melbourne Cup, according to Racing Australia.
The race was won by Gold Trip ahead of Emissary and High Emocean.
A stable representative from Maher-Eustace Racing said that Interpretation appeared to be OK.
Three other horses – Camorra, Serpentine and Numerian – finished a long way back but were listed as having crossed the line.
The three horses were officially listed as finishing 73 lengths behind (Numerian) and 99 lengths behind (Camorra and Serpentine).
Jockey Ben Melham said after the race that his horse Camorra had pulled up fine.
“He was hopeless on the ground when I let him down,” Melham said.
John Allen, who rode Serpentine, described the ride as “disappointing.
“Probably didn’t really back up from Saturday [in the Lexus Archer Stakes],” he said.
Said Tommy Berry of his ride Numerian: “He just got deleted at the top of the straight”.
