Victoria has unearthed yet another prodigious batting talent with 20-year-old Ashley Chandrasinghe bursting on the scene on Sunday with a first-class century on debut.
The left-hander played an innings of tremendous poise and patience against Tasmania on a Hobart green top that will have national selectors taking note.
Having made just one run from his first 49 balls, Chandrasinghe carved his way to a brilliant 119 not out from 333 deliveries.
Despite being on debut, there were no signs of nerves on 98 when Chandrasinghe drove straight down the ground to bring up his century.

And there can be no question about the quality of the Tasmanian attack: It featured two former Test stars in Jackson Bird and Peter Siddle, as well as Australian international Riley Meredith.
Victoria went on to make 7-351 declared in an innings led by the No.3 and captain Peter Handscomb (95), who was the only other batter to go past 35.
After emergence of Will Pucovski, who made his Test debut at just 22 years old, Victoria could well be sitting on another exciting prospect.
Chandrasinghe announced himself as a star of the future via Darwin, where he played during the winter months having been neglected by all Victorian pathways
In Darwin, he remarkably made five-consecutive Premier Grade centuries and eventually returned to Victoria, where he made runs in the second XI.
He was signed to a rookie contract at Victoria and only played against Tasmania as a replacement for Pucovski, who sat out for mental health reasons.
His 311-ball ton is the slowest in the Sheffield Shield in 10 seasons.
