Melbourne’s former media and communications manager Clare Pettyfor has been appointed Collingwood’s Head of Football Operations.
Pettyfor’s rise to the role comes after 10 years in the AFL industry, including six years at Hawthorn – which included leading the club’s communications and marketing team – before a move to the Demons in 2021.
Her role at the Dees included key roles in the club’s facilities project, RAP Committee and the drought-breaking AFL premiership.

Pettyfor graduated the AFL industry’s Next Gen – Female Executive Leadership program in 2019.
She replaces former head of football operations Nick Maxwell, who departed the club earlier in the year.
Graham Wright will continue to perform an overarching role in the football department, overseeing the AFL, VFL and AFLW programs, with Pettyfor to handle the bulk of the AFL program and report to Wright.
“Clare has been a long-time administrator in football where she has developed into a strong leader and someone we have identified as having the ideal skillset to make the transition to football operations,” Wright told the club website regarding Pettyfor’s arrival.
Pettyfor’s tenure at the Pies is set to commence in late November.
The appointment continues an eventful off-season for the club’s AFL side, which involved a spate of arrivals and departures during the trade period.
Among the arrivals were Tom Mitchell from Hawthorn and Daniel McStay from Brisbane.
