Selections based on a soft track

Race 1 – 3.20PM RANDWICK MAYOR’S CUP (1300 METRES)

2. Pretty Powerful is a colt on debut and has had four trials with two each side of a break. He won a trial at Warwick Farm before finishing fourth in the latest when not beaten far. He’s drawn ideally here and should be hard to hold out. Dangers: 3. Secure is a well-bred colt that had looked good in trials before debuting with a solid effort at Canterbury. He since has a trial and was close up. A forward showing is on the cards here. 11. Occult wasn’t beaten far at Kembla Grange last time out and each of his three starts have been sound. 4. Tasoraay was beaten less than a length at Canterbury last time out and is not out of this.
How to play it: Pretty Powerful to win.

Race 2 – 4PM THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

5. Sister Daae has had two starts and performed well in each with a fourth and a third either side of a spell. She has had a quiet trial leading into this and should be hard to hold out. Dangers: 2. Alliri was well in the market when finishing second for the second time from as many starts when last produced at Taree. She has the talent to show up again here. 4. Rybakina ran well in her two starts earlier in the year and then wasn’t beaten too far at Kembla Grange when resuming. 3. Certain Future is on debut and is primed to run well on the back of some solid trials.
How to play it: Sister Daae to win.

Race 3 – 4.40PM SCHWEPPES HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

5. Candlewick is a well-bred filly that debuted with an easy win at Wyong. She followed that up with a close-up second at the same track, and she only needs to run up to those efforts to be the one to beat here. Dangers: 3. Joyner raced in the lead and did the job well to score at Canterbury when last produced. She should run well again here with a repeat of that. 8. Sting In The Tail resumed with a Hawkesbury win and is not out of this if she can repeat that. 12. Churchill’s Choice won narrowly at Scone on debut and is not out of this.
How to play it: Candlewick to win.

Race 4 – 5.20PM JAMES SQUIRE HANDICAP (1250 METRES)

2.Harry’s Bar has a win and three placings from just the five starts and has the obvious talent to give this a shake if she’s anywhere near her best. Dangers: 7. Thundering Soul has been racing well enough of late with a couple of placings and two just behind the placings efforts. He should run well here if anywhere near his best. 6. Red Hot Lizzie led and wasn’t beaten far at Canterbury when resuming and looms as a chance again here. 5. Raikkonen led and held on well to score at Canterbury when last produced and has solid claims again in this with a repeat.
How to play it: Harry’s Bar to win.

Race 5 – 60PM HYLAND RACE COLOURS HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

7. The Right Rein has been racing in fine form with a win at Bathurst four starts ago being followed by placings at Randwick and Newcastle before a last start Queanbeyan win. He is racing well and can win again. Dangers: 2. Cheval Savant ran better when second at Canterbury last time out when only just being edged out. He can give cheek again here. 4. Barazin resumed from a spell with a second placing at Wyong and this is not out of his capabilities. 14. Dunaloce has been placed in three of her latest four starts and is not out of this.
How to play it: The Right Rein to win.

Race 6 – 6.30PM RACING AND SPORTS HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

4. Fiddlers Green resumed from a spell last time out and couldn’t have been any more impressive when romping to victory over more than five lengths. He has plenty of upside and can win again. Dangers: 5. Bright Red was placed at Rosehill when resuming. She’s talented and has the ability to measure up again. 6. Demiana went down narrowly when second at Canterbury when resuming. She can figure here without surprising. 7. Liberty State ran second at Canterbury when first up and she has the talent to show up again in this.
How to play it: Fiddlers Green to win.

Race 7 – 7PM TAB HANDICAP (1250 METRES)

11. Edge Of Reward is resuming from a spell here and has had two solid trials leading into this resuming effort. He was just behind the placings in each of his two runs before being spelled and is primed to sprint well fresh here. Dangers: 2. Jumeirah Beach is talented at best and resumes here on the back of some down the track city efforts. His trials have been good and he has solid claims here. 1. The Replicant has only won three out of 30, but has had a further 18 placings. He’s handy at best and resumes here after two trials. 8.
