Collett has good book of rides at Nowra
By John Schell

Jockey Alysha Collett will head to Nowra on Sunday with a strong book of six rides awaiting at the Shoalhaven track.

Collett will combine with the top stable of Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald for two mounts, and she has another two for Danny Williams, and one each for Jamie Stewart and Matthew Smith.

She will start the day in the Bede Murray Memorial Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m) on the Stewart prepared Magic Alwyns. The mare is coming off a sixth at Nowra when starting at massive odds.

Veteran galloper My Blue Jeans will represent Williams in the Michael “Mick” Locke Memorial Benchmark 58 Handicap (1600m). The 10-year-old has had 122 starts and, while his form has been down on his best of late, he is more than capable of improving enough to give the race a shake.

The Neasham and Archibald trained Cashburn will be Collett’s ride in the AIS Certifiers Maiden Plate (1400m). Cashburn has only had the two starts but has been close-up in each of them when finishing fourth on each occasion at Nowra and Newcastle.

Collett is having her first ride on Cashburn after Molly Bourke and Mollie Fitzgerald have been aboard in her two starts.

The Smith-prepared Broadcast Boogie is Collett’s ride in the Broughton Landscapes Maiden Handicap (1200m). Broadcast Boogie was placed in Super Maiden grade on debut at Gosford back in March but failed at Kembla Grange and Goulburn in two subsequent starts either side of a spell.

The Neasham and Archibald trained Nettles will line up in the CKB Civil Mollymook Cup – Benchmark 66 Handicap (1200m).

Nettles has a wide barrier to contend with, but Collett has had a good association with the mare having won both her race races at Scone and Canberra this year.

Collett rounds out the day on the Williams-trained Woodzy in the Turfco Eddie Latta Memorial Handicap.
