Geelong has been accused of offering “way, way, way unders” for Collingwood forward Ollie Henry and leaving “a few clubs” frustrated with their negotiating tactics.
Former Cats defender turned list manager Andrew Mackie has taken over the role from long-time boss Stephen Wells, as the club attempts to land Henry, Jack Bowes and Tanner Bruhn over the next six days.
But former Collingwood recruiter Matt Rendell has claimed the Cats have only offered pick 38 for Henry, the No.17 pick in the 2020 draft who wants to play for his hometown club.

It’s been suggested the Cats are keen to hold onto their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 as well as the Pick 7 they’re set to receive from Gold Coast in the Bowes deal.
They’ll likely need to give up their future second round pick for the AFL to tick off the Bowes salary dump, but that doesn’t leave the Cats with much to use in their deals for Bruhn and Henry, who were both 2020 first-round picks.

“I’m not sure it’s a certainty… to get done next week if it keeps playing out as it is playing out at the moment,” Rendell said on Trade Radio.
“Geelong has offered Collingwood pick 38 for Oliver Henry. That’s way unders. Way, way, way unders.
“They are low-balling Tanner Bruhn, a former pick 12 as well. They want to keep hold of their pick 18 and supposedly their pick 7.
“Obviously Gold Coast want something for next year in return for Bowes, they’ve got to give something back for next year. I don’t know exactly what that will be but it’ll be at least a future second from Geelong for that deal to get approved.”
He added: “Andrew Mackie is doing the trading for the first time and not Stephen Wells. There are a few clubs not happy with how they’re going about their business.
“Wellsy just got deals done and they were all win-wins, and that’s what you want.”
Rendell argued the Cats should use pick 18 for Henry and their future first for Bruhn – a pick likely to be in the teens again, assuming Geelong contends.
The Cats may get some draft assets if they’re willing to send versatile tall Esava Ratugolea to Port Adelaide.
The Power have picks 33, 43, 53, 57 and 60, but it’s unlikely any of those picks individually would satisfy the Giants or Magpies for Bruhn or Henry either.
