Dragons playmaker Jayden Sullivan has requested an immediate release to join the Bulldogs in the wake of Ben Hunt re-signing with the club.
Sullivan is contracted until the end of 2025 and is the second St George Illawarra young gun to request a release in the past month.
Tyrell Sloan’s bid join the Dolphins was rejected, as the playmaker chases more minutes after he was restricted to eight games by coach Anthony Griffin this year.
Sullivan finds himself in a similar boat and played just nine games this season, mostly off the bench.
Hunt signed a new deal this week that will keep him at the club until the end of 2025 and Sullivan, who made his NRL debut at the club in 2020, is done sitting under him in the pecking order.
Incoming Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo is keen on Sullivan to be Matt Burton’s long-term halves partner, according to The Daily Telegraph.
MORE TO COME.
